•  Excellent source of statistics on crime victims and criminal offenders

Bureau of Labor Statistics

•  Provides current and retrospective data from 26 surveys for 15 subjects
•  Excellent source for information on regional economies


Condition of Education

•  Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics
•  Site's stated purpose is "summarizing the health of education, monitoring important developments and showing trends in major aspects of education"
•  Traces indicators in 65 topical areas
•  Year 2000 report consists of six broad areas and is 340 pages
•  Can be downloaded in Adobe Reader (PDF)
•  Earlier reports also available


Digest of Education Statistics

•  Especially useful for locating information based on educational levels
•  Utilizes over 400 tables, both governmental and private
