•  Provides ranking statistics for the world's major religions, churches (religious bodies, "Top Ten" lists
•  "Religion by Name Index" and "Religion by Location Index" are the primary tools for locating statistics
•  Also includes information on religious affiliations of presidents, members of Congress, founders of religions
•  There is no filtering/interpretation of statistics; some statistical data will differ (all statistics on a topic are given); occasionally, data will be contradictory
•  Like many statistical meta-sites, statistics are not uniformly up-to-date
•  Excellent FAQ explains the methodology utilized in creating the site; also includes tips on constructing the most productive searches (reading this is highly recommended)
• Outstanding; one of the best – if not the best – resources for statistical data on religions (especially little-known religions)

•  Excellent; "Charts Index" is one of the best sources for comparative international statistical information, especially for beginning researchers

International Data Base (IDB)

•  Provides statistical data for demographic and socio-economic data for 227 countries and regions of the world
•  Links to 25 topical areas
•  Provides demographic information back to 1950 and projected to 2050
•  Searches can be customized through interactive format
•  Amount of statistical data may vary from country to country
•  Outstanding; one of the best sources for compiling demographic reports or profiles and projections


OFFSTATS

•  Created by Rainer Wolcke for the University of Auckland Library (New Zealand)
•  Goal is to provide "... free and easily accessible statistics from official sources"
•  Links to national statistical agencies/offices and regional/international agencies/offices (some countries have multiple agencies/offices)

•  Best and most direct source for official statistics


United Nations Statistics Division

•  Links to UN social, political, economic, health and environmental statistical resources and to official statistical databases of UN member nations
•  "Millennium Indicators" provide profiles for over 230 countries, utilizing up to 48 indicators; availability of indicators may vary, depending on the comprehensiveness of a specific country's statistical resources
