Information Center (FIEIC)
• “The Center is part of an interagency agreement between
the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the United States Department
of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)”
• The FIEIC “… provide information about foodborne illness
prevention to educators, trainers, and organizations developing education
and training materials for food workers and consumers”
• Includes the Foodborne Illness Educational Materials Database,
“a compilation of consumer and food worker educational materials
developed by universities; private industry; and local, state, and federal
agencies”
• Also includes “Food Safety Education & Training Materials,”
“Foodsafe Discussion Group,” “HACCP Training Materials”
• “Food Safety Links” provide access to several hundred
sites for over 40 categories of food safety-related topics; these sites
are from government (federal and state), academia and professional associations/organizations
• Outstanding; one of the best – if not the best – sites
for anyone seeking “one-stop shopping” for information on
foodborne illnesses
