E-JOURNALS (ELECTRONIC JOURNALS)

There is great diversity in electronic journals (or e-journals) on the Internet. Some sites link to journals' home pages. Others link to descriptive profiles of journals (and include subscription information). Some provide indexing and links to journals' tables-of-contents and provide abstracts of journal articles. Others link to full-text journals (which may be free or fee-based). Some are links to articles from a variety of sources. Most sites center on a theme (business, social sciences, medicine, etc.). A limited number of sites attempt to be as broad-based as possible.

Another characteristic of e-journals is their transitory nature. Journals "come and go" and this translates into relative instability for many sites. Nevertheless, many useful resources can be found by investigating this challenging, yet worthwhile resource.
