• FINDING BOOKS
Subject Searching In Library Catalog, click on "Subject".
Enter any of the following subjects or one of your own choosing. A list of available
titles matching your search terms will be displayed.
Suggested contemporary topics:
abortion, animal rights, assisted suicide, capital
punishment, gambling, genetic engineering, global warming, gun control, pornography,
public welfare, terrorism, wildlife conservation
Title Searching In Library Catalog, click on "Title".
Enter any of the following titles and a list of individual books within that series
will be displayed.
Suggested contemporary titles:
contemporary ethical issues, contemporary world
issues, ideas in conflict, information series on current topics, opposing viewpoints
series, primary documents in American history and contemporary issues,
reference shelf, taking sides, clashing views on controversial issues
• FINDING ARTICLES IN JWU'S SUBSCRIPTION DATABASES
Many of the subscription databases are available to all Johnson & Wales campuses. Access that is restricted to a specific campus is indicated after the name of the database.
Searching Business Topics
Go to Databases and select Business Source Premier. Enter any of
the following subjects or one of your own choosing. A list of relevant article citations
will be displayed.
Suggested contemporary topics:
aids (disease) in the workplace, employer supported
daycare, employment discrimination, European Monetary Union, false advertising,
labor unions, monopolies, privacy, tobacco industry, volunteerism, white collar
crime, workplace multiculturalism
Searching General Interest & Health Topics
Go to Databases and select either Academic
Search Pemier or Health & Wellness Resource Center. Enter any of the following
subjects or one of your own choosing. A list of relevant article citations will
be displayed.
Suggested topics:
abortion, animal experimentation, assisted suicide, computer
crimes, euthanasia, gambling, genetic engineering, global warming, hazing, lotteries,
medical ethics, medicinal marijuana, radiation preservation of food, social security,
violent crimes
