Library Mission
Our mission is to maintain, develop, and provide access to resources that best support the learning, research and diverse informational needs of the Johnson & Wales University community.

University Library, Downcity Campus The Johnson & Wales University Library at the Downcity Campus is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Yena Center in the heart of Rhode Island's capital. The Library supports the degree programs in business, hospitality, and technology and includes resources related to the arts & sciences curriculum. It maintains a sizeable collection of books, print and online journals, and videos concentrated in the fields of hospitality, business and technology. Ample study tables, soft seating, private carrels and four study rooms contribute to an environment just right for doing homework as well as recreational reading alone or in groups. Over 50 computers and wireless connectivity provide access to the Library's catalog, the Internet, and multiple databases. An electronic classroom is available for classroom instruction as well as for use as a computer lab.

University Library, Harborside Campus The facility at the Harborside Campus is located on the 1st floor of the Paramount Building, 3.59 miles south of the Downcity Campus. Its collection supports the degree programs for the College of Culinary Arts as well as the School of Education, with select services targeted to students and faculty in the business and hospitality programs of the Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School. The Harborside collection includes over 10,000 circulating and non-circulating books, thousands of print and online journals, hundreds of videos including taped presentations from the Distinguished Visiting Chefs program, many online databases, and menus from around the world. Numerous study tables, soft seating and four study rooms plus more than 25 computers and wireless connectivity support the integration of information resources and technology into the educational experience of Johnson & Wales students.

Exhibit Room The Exhibit Room is located on the first floor of the Downcity Library. This room, with its custom-built cabinetry, parquet floor and comfortable seating, offers a small but elegant display area for special collections of books, artwork and artifacts belonging to the University.
