Visitor Policy
The Denver Campus Library at Johnson & Wales University permits visitors
and people from the community to use the Library facility for study and research
purposes only.
- Library materials may only be used on-site. Items cannot be borrowed.
Photocopying charges are $.05 per page. The copier accepts coins and
dollar bills.
- Access to the University’s Computer Labs is restricted to currently
enrolled Johnson & Wales students, staff and faculty.
- Library catalog terminals, located in the center of the Library, may be
used on a first-come, first-serve basis for the time period designated.
- The HELIN Library Catalog is available for use by visitors. All other
databases are not available due to licensing agreements.
- Outside groups are not permitted to use the Denver Campus Library for
meeting space.
- Minors under the age of 12 are not permitted in the facility unless supervised
by an adult (i.e., a person of the age 18 or older).
While in the Library, the following conduct is prohibited:
- Consuming food
- Beverages not in closed containers (drinks in a closed container or with a lid are allowed)
- Food and beverages are not allowed in the Library Computer Labs
- Tobacco use in any form
- Soliciting, selling, or campaigning
- Bringing in animals, other than certified assistive animals
- Physical, sexual, or verbal abuse of library users or staff
- Playing audio equipment loud enough to disturb others
- Drunkenness
- Not wearing shoes or shirt
- Stealing, destroying, or defacing library materials, furniture, or equipment
- Fighting
- Bringing guns, knives, or other weapons into the facility
- Using roller or in-line skates, skateboards, or coasters in the library
- The making of noise, such as loud talking or shouting that is disruptive
to others
- Boisterous behavior, such as running, throwing things, pushing, or shoving
Library staff will intervene to prohibit any of the activities or behaviors
listed above. Violators will be asked to stop such activity immediately. If
the activity/behavior continues, he/she will be instructed to leave the library.
Campus Security and/or the police will be called for serious offenses or failure
to leave the premises when instructed.
