The Reference collection is located behind the Information Desk. Reference materials can be identified by the transparent yellow sticker over the call number.
Some reference books are frequently used and for your convenience are kept
on the Ready Reference shelf, which is located next to the photocopier. The
Ready Reference collection primarily contains books in a series, such as:

Generally reference books are not read cover to cover, and are used to find
a definition, general description, or quick fact. Reference books can provide
a broad overview of a topic or may cover specific areas of study. The most
common reference books are:
Almanacs published annually with facts and figures on various
subjects.

Atlases geographical maps.

atlas & gazetteer
Dictionaries definitions, spelling and pronunciation of terms.

Oxford American dictionary
Directories alphabetical listing of names and addresses

Encyclopedias descriptions and overviews of a topic.

wine encyclopedia
Statistical sources collection of numerical measurements
and facts.

You can search for Reference books using the Library Catalog. To ensure that Reference books are always available, these books cannot be checked out. If you cannot find a book on the shelf, do not hesitate to ask at the Information desk.
