This is a great place to sit, relax, and browse through the wide assortment of magazines and journals. The Library subscribes to over 200 periodicals and journals on academic and recreational topics. When you are sitting on our comfy leather couch, you are facing the start of the collection which is arranged in alphabetical order by title, see Magazine & Journal List (72K PDF).
The shelves display the front cover of the most recent issue. If you lift the display shelf upward, you will see more issues stored underneath. Older issues from previous months or years are bound into volumes and are shelved along the wall near computer labs 2 and 3.
These magazines are always available since they cannot be checked out. For your convenience, a self-service copier is available near the Information Desk area.
Search the Library Catalog to see if we have your favorite magazine or view our list of magazines.
The Library also has electronic subscriptions to magazines and journals via
30 different databases.
- Find out if a specific magazine title is available full-text from a
database, by searching the Journal
Locator.
- Or, search for full-text articles on a particular topic from the Library
Database.
Newspapers are located on a credenza in between the Information desk and the Magazine area. The Library subscribes to several local and national papers, including Rocky Mountain News, Denver Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Financial Times. The most recent issue is on the top of the credenza. Back issues are underneath in the file drawers. The Library only keeps the last two weeks.
The Library Menu Collection consists of over 400 menus from local, regional and international restaurants. It is located in two vertical file cabinets next to the newspaper credenza. To find a menu, view our Menu List (82K PDF). Or ask for assistance at the Information desk.
