Photocopying Guidelines
Getting Permission (for multiple
copy classroom use)
If you cannot meet each and every one of the guidelines, then you must get permission from the author or publisher to copy and distribute copyrighted work. Requests should be sent in writing by email to richard.moniz@jwu.edu.
The Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) also has the right to grant permission and collect fees for photocopying rights for certain publications. It is often the fastest and most efficient way to obtain permissions.
What to Include in your email:
Important Note: If you do not follow these guidelines and use other people's work without permission, you expose both the University and yourself personally to liability. Copying and distributing other people's work in violation of the guidelines may constitute “"cause" for disciplinary action against you, up to and including termination.
